DSA Building Permit
A building permit is required for the construction, alteration, moving, demolition, repair, and use of any building or structure within the county.
You must have a MAPPS Customer Self Service account in order to apply online. Complete the information in all the steps in MAPPS CSS then upload the required documents and plans related to your application. To avoid delays in processing your application, please follow these guidelines:
- The Permit Description should be the owner’s name (last name, first name) or the name of the business.
- The Valuation should include materials and labor.
- Add any contacts that should be associated to the case.
- Attach all required forms and any other documents/plans that are relevant to the review of your application.
Go online to MAPPS CSS to apply for:
- Building Permit – new construction, addition, alteration or repair.
- Building Permit – Demolition – complete removal or demolition of a structure.
- Building Permit – Temporary – construction of temporary structures (e.g. tents, booths, stages).

- Multiple Permit Notification form - upload this form when applying for multiple permits on the same plan set. Submittals must be done at the same time.
- Special Inspections Form
- Transmittal Form – upload this form when a resubmittal (revision) is made for a project

Fees
The building permit and plan review fees shall be assessed as set forth in the annual budget ordinance. Applicant will be notified when payment is due.
Construction Plans
All plans shall be uploaded as Construction Plans for plan sets up to 100 sheets. For larger sets, split Construction Plans into multiple sets (i.e. Plan Set 1 of 2, Plan Set 2 of 2) or separate plans into specific plan types (i.e. Structural Plans, Electrical Plans, etc.).
Multiple Permit Submittals
If multiple permits are to be obtained off a single set of construction plans (i.e. main dwelling, pool, driveway, grading), follow the instructions on the Multiple Permit Notification form.
